Power+Energy Engineering & Technical Associate
Power+Energy is currently hiring engineering and technical associates. Our ideal candidate:
- Has strong hands-on experience with vacuum systems and/or gas manifold design and construction.
- Has a strong background in at least undergraduate-level Mathematics, Engineering, or Physics.
- Is comfortable working in a team-based industrial environment, interacting with academic associates.
- Is goal- and task-oriented, with excellent documentation and organizational skills.
The ideal candidate for the position will also have experience in at least four of the following fields:
- Constructing R&D test equipment and panels (using saws, drills, wrenches, etc.)
- Field installations of gas equipment
- Building gas systems incorporating flow meters, MFCs, and pressure sensors for production testing
- Using automatic welders, as well as orbital and welding lathes
- Mechanical design using SolidWorks
- Console application programming
- Electronic design, PCB layout, and PCAD
- Unsupervised self-motivation (e.g. research)
- Programming in Visual Basic, LabView, or C
- Life cycle testing, reliability testing, and useful life evaluation
- Operating and maintaining a scanning-electron microscope
The job itself will involve:
- Designing control systems for R&D test equipment.
- Collecting and analyzing test data.
- Software/hardware interfacing.
- Designing automation equipment for production efficiency.
