PE9000MZ Series High-Flow
Micro-Channel Hydrogen Purifier
|
Power+Energy’s PE9000MZ Series Micro-Channel Hydrogen Purifier provides a cost-effective and convenient solution for obtaining ultra-pure hydrogen. The PE9000MZ Series is designed to produce a continuous supply of low-cost, ultra-pure hydrogen from commercial cylinders or an in-house source of hydrogen. This Micro-Channel purifier provides hydrogen purification levels of nine-nines (no more than 1 part per billion total impurities), with continuous operation at flow rates ranging from 5 to 320 NM³/hr.
The PE9000MZ Series offers many unique features, such as easy-to-use one-button operation, compact design for large UPH flows, complete system control and monitoring with the integrated PLC Controller, immunity to power failure, and automatic leak check on shutdown. Temperatures, rate of rise, and a variety of other data are monitored to insure that your PE9000MZ Series Micro-Channel Hydrogen Purifier operates safely and within precise guidelines.
Ease of Use:
The Power+Energy PE9000MZ Series features a GE industrial controller with an intuitive touch-screen interface, simplifying use and adding to Power+Energy's high reliability and global parts availability. The PE9000MZ Series can also be controlled over a LAN network via a computer interface that's just as simple to use as the touch-screen, and basic operational commands and status checks are available through dry relay contact connections.
Power+Energy's turnkey system offers diagnostic functions and dedicated connections for leak detection and troubleshooting, and because getting it up and running as quickly as possible is crucial, Power+Energy helium-leak tests every unit during assembly. We then bench-test and performance-certify each purifier under vacuum before we ship it, ensuring that your hydrogen purifier is ready to go as soon as it arrives.
Principle of Operation:
Power+Energy's hydrogen purifiers consist of a 316L stainless steel cell, incorporating a tubular palladium-alloy membrane assembly that acts as the diffusion element. Hydrogen gas is brought into contact with the inner surfaces of the palladium-alloy tube, which acts as a selective barrier, passing only atomic hydrogen through the tube wall while excluding all other gases.
Molecular hydrogen is adsorbed onto the surface, where it dissociates into atomic hydrogen. The atomic hydrogen then diffuses through the palladium-alloy lattice as determined by the hydrogen pressure gradient. The hydrogen atoms then recombine on the low-pressure side of the membrane, and desorb as molecular hydrogen.
Applications:
Power+Energy's hydrogen purifiers are ideal for use with MOCVD reactors, as well as in laboratories, universities, and any other situation where ultra-pure hydrogen is needed. Our purifiers provide a hydrogen stream much more pure than is available from cylinder gases, perfect for:
• Semiconductor manufacturing
• Carrier gas and fuel in gas chromatography
• Metallurgy
• Hydrogenation
• Catalytic processes
• Controlled atmospheres
• Gas treatment in power plants
Locally generated ultra-pure hydrogen is perfect for various tasks, from use as a carrier gas for MOCVD to flame ionization in gas chromatography.
