6000/7000 Series High-Flow Hydrogen Purifier Systems |
Introduction:
Power+Energy's 6000- and 7000-Series hydrogen purifiers are designed for use as cost-effective new or replacement cells for use in your existing equipment. Hydrogen purity levels of 99.9999999% are achievable with continuous operation at flow rates ranging from 60 to 400 standard liters per minute, whether supplied by commercial hydrogen cylinders or by an in-house hydrogen supply.
Whether purchased or rented as an Operational Lease, each hydrogen purifier is fully helium-leak-tested during assembly and bench-tested before shipping in order to ensure the longest lifetime possible.
Principle of Operation:
Power+Energy hydrogen purifiers consist of a 316L-grade stainless steel cell, incorporating a large-diameter palladium-alloy tube as the diffusion element. Hydrogen gas is brought into contact with the inner surfaces of the palladium-alloy tube, which acts as a selective barrier, passing only atomic hydrogen through the tube wall while excluding all other gases.
Molecular hydrogen is adsorbed onto the surface, where it dissociates into atomic hydrogen. Each hydrogen atom then shares its electron with the palladium-alloy lattice, and diffuses through the lattice as determined by the pressure gradient. The hydrogen atoms recombine on the low-pressure side of the membrane, and are desorbed as hydrogen molecules with virtually no impurities.
The principal benefit of Power+Energy's inside-out architecture, compared to competitive models' outside-in methods, is that Power+Energy provides far cleaner hydrogen with far less maintenance — the outside surface of the large-diameter tubing can easily be thoroughly cleaned, eliminating dead spots and increasing both efficiency and purity.
Applications:
Power+Energy's hydrogen purifiers are ideal for use in MOCVD reactors, laboratories, universities, or anywhere else ultra-pure hydrogen is needed. Popular applications include:
• Semiconductor manufacturing
• Use as a carrier gas and fuel in gas chromatography
• Metallurgy
• Hydrogenation
• Catalytic processes
• Controlled atmospheres
• Gas treatment in nuclear power plants
Locally generated ultra-pure hydrogen is ideal for use as a carrier gas and for flame ionization in gas chromatography applications.
